LOST IN THE MOMENT | PERSO NEL MOMENTO
What exactly is the man (or woman) doing in this picture? Is he falling? Is he jumping? Or maybe diving?
The sense of uncertainty is part of our daily lives. Even when we pretend to be sure, we don’t actually have control of the situations around us. This idea is magnified in the metaphor of the acrobat, who jumps into the air leaving behind the old trapeze but not yet having the assurance of grasping the new trapeze. In that moment between the trapezes the acrobat is lost, for a while he has nothing but the faith that his partner will grab him at just the right moment. We are in the same moment when we make a decision. Or when we are forced to jump into a new season of our life, hoping for the best.
The acrobat who grabs the flyer is called the Catcher, his role is to catch the flyer at the right moment. There is no way for the flyer to catch the Catcher, he can only wait. The flyer’s only security is in his faith and trust in his Catcher.

Cosa sta facendo esattamente l’uomo (è un uomo?) Nell’immagine? Sta cadendo? Sta saltando? O magari Nuotando?
Il senso d’incertezza è parte della nostra vita quotidiana. Anche quando fingiamo di essere sicuri, effettivamente non abbiamo il controllo delle situazioni intorno a noi. Questa idea è esaltata nella metafora del trapezista, il quale salta nel vuoto lasciando dietro di sè il primo trapezio senza avere la certezza di di poter afferrare il secondo. In quel momento tra I due trapezi l’acrobata è perduto, per un momento egli non ha niente se non la fede che il suo compagno lo afferrerà al momento giusto. Noi siamo nella stessa situazione quando prendiamo una qualsiasi decisione. O magari quando siamo costretti a lanciarsi in una nuova stagione della nostra vita, sperando per il meglio.
L’acrobata che afferra il trapezista è detto Il Ricevitore, il suo ruolo è quello di afferrare il suo partner al momento giusto. Non c’è modo per il trapezista di afferrare il Ricevitore, può solo aspettare. L’unica certezza del trapezista è nella sua fede e fiducia nel Ricevitore.
